One God, Father, Son & Holy Spirit

Often people from different 'Religions or Faiths' have many different views on the Triune God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. One area is that many find it difficult when Christians talk about is this Triune God. They will often think we have three Gods; but in fact Christians only have one true God; but in the three persons.
Consider the table below about Bible verses that speak about each attribute and then continue reading down through this page.

ATTRIBUTES

God the Father

God the Son

God the Holy Spirit

OMNIPRESENCE
Present everywhere at the same time
Psalm 139:7~12
Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there Your hand shall lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me. If I say, "Surely the darkness shall fall on me," Even the night shall be light about me; indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, but the night shines as the day; the darkness and the light are both alike to You.
Matt. 18:20; John 3:13
"For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them."
No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.
Psalm 139:7
Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?
OMNISCIENT
Knowing everything
Psalm 139:1~6
O LORD, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, but behold, O LORD, You know it altogether. You have hedged me behind and before, And laid Your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain it.
John 2:23~25
Now when He was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name when they saw the signs which He did. But Jesus did not commit Himself to them, because He knew all men, and had no need that anyone should testify of man, for He knew what was in man.
1 Cor.2:10~11
But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God
OMNISCIENCE
Knowledge of everything
Job 37:16
Do you know how the clouds are balanced, Those wondrous works of Him who is perfect in knowledge?
John 1:3
All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
John 16:13
However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
OMNIPOTENCE
Having all Power
Gen.1:1; Heb.11:3
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.
Heb.1:3
who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high
Luke 1:35
And the angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.
IMMUTABLE
Never changing
Malachi 3:6
For I am the LORD, I do not change;
Heb. 13:8
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Isaiah 63:11; John 14:16~17
Then he remembered the days of old, Moses and his people, saying: "Where is He who brought them up out of the sea With the shepherd of His flock? Where is He who put His Holy Spirit within them,
And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever––"the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
ETERNAL
Without beginning nor end
Psalm 90:2,4
Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever You had formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God. For a thousand years in Your sight are like yesterday when it is past, and like a watch in the night.
Rev 1:8
"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End," says the Lord, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.
Heb. 9:14
How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Gen 1:6 Then God said, "Let 'US' make man in 'OUR' image, according to 'OUR' likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."

Consider from the Bible that God is only 'One' God, He is God the Father, God the Son & God the Holy Spirit. The Father is not the Son or the Holy Spirit. The Son is not the Father or the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is not the Father or the Son. They are three distinct persons but only one God.

Accept Jesus Christ today as your Lord and Savior.

EPH. 2:8,9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Message by Jacques Perron
The Spirit has His Own Identity

John 14:16,17 calls the Holy Spirit a 'Comforter' of the same kind and refers to the Holy Spirit as 'Him'
John 15:26, John 16:8 and John 16 13~15 says that the Holy Spirit will testify, reprove, guide, hear, speak, receive, show and glorify

God is One

The Old and New Testament are emphatic and insistent that God is one God.
Deut. 4:35 and Mark 12:29 (said by Jesus Christ) reiterates this to.
There are false teachings of one God with different titles or different aspects by Sabellianism or Modalism

God is Three Persons

Romans 1:20 says For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse
Examples of three in one from a human perspective would be
1 (Dimensions-height, width, depth-one object);
2 (Time-past, present, future-one time);
3 (Human being-body, soul, spirit-one person see 1 Thess. 5:23)

Different functions but inseparable
The Father-purpose; the Son-implements; the Holy Spirit makes it effectual
See Matt. 3:16,17 (Jesus Baptism)
Heb. 9:14 (The Lord's death)
Isaiah 61:1 (Jesus service)

No Saviour Possible in All Other Religions

There are only two religions, either man saves himself through some means or man is saved by grace through Jesus Christ. All other beliefs cannot have a Saviour so then it is work of man.

Some may believe that man can be saved by

1 An animal which Heb.10:4 refutes
2 A human being which is not scriptural, see Romans 3:10
3 Others may believe it is of an angel, but these are messangers of God to do His service in Heaven to aid men on earth.
4 There is only one who can save and that is Jesus Christ; see 1 tim. 2:5; John 17:5 & Mark 1:11.
